Is smoking weed evil? Why or why not?

i'm not sure and also very curious so people please chime in

not evil but not great for me! i think it depends on a person's tolerance. i still smoke on occasion before bed but i think it has a greater psychological effect that carries on even when I'm not even high (i think it's demotivating + clouds thinking for longer than i realized). but I have friends who are high all the time & fully functional. can't say how it effects them emotionally/psychologically on a deeper level but they seem to make it work. also i get really 'stuck upstairs' (quiet) when I'm high these days & seldom do it in public unless it's a safe space. tldr; it will hit everyone differently but circumstantial 4 me.

i dont think people who smoke weed are evil. but i think weed itself is evil. based solely on my own experience of smoking weed for the first and only time and then having a psychotic break that lead to an 8-day hospitalization and a lifetime of derealization

im a person who smokes semi-regularly (maybe 1-2 times a week) and greens out maybe once every 3-6 months. a heavy greenout is really really unpleasant and makes me feel like im losing my mind (and has led to dissociation and derealization which really really sux) but a lighter greenout can teach me things about myself that are helpful. about 6 months ago i also got bullied completely out of the blue when i was high & also going through one of the hardest times of my life & have been a lighter smoker since then. i dont recommend that experience! only smoke with kind people

in my experience, greening out slows down my mental voice a ton and if it's too slow i just feel like im not thinking, but just a little slower than normal and i feel like im observing my thoughts go by which can actually be really cool. like the last time i greened out i feel like i could see myself getting caught up in ocd spirals really clearly and i saw just how much my brain goes off the rails in anxiety mode. and how much that separates me from other people! i think i also saw how, like, greening out makes everything feel so much more real and vivid and for people who use denial as a primary coping mechanism it's unbearable, like at least for me i lose the ability to use denial. idk maybe this is all silly stuff but tldr my opinion is that weed can be evil and it can also be a cool tool. but if ur anxious at all start with a very very very very low dose!! dont trust ur stoner friends whove never greened out to load the bong or pick the edible

Too many thoughts on this that I don’t know where to start. Did I get too high with my friends every night in 2015 and then smoke every day and night forever since then? Yes. Sometimes weed can be fun, connective, thought-inspiring, creativity-inducing, escapist… I loved the ways it made me think and feel differently — colors looked brighter, food tasted more delicious, jokes were funnier… Other times it can make me go inside myself in a reclusive way, where I’m overthinking my thoughts/words and judging others too intensely. No drug itself is “evil” though, I think all drugs have their uses when consumed with intention. Even when dealing with addiction or dependence, people use drugs for logical reasons!
